your morning self-routines?
Routine, repetition, the ritual is something we all seek, and need. They come in different ways; some are good, some are less beneficial. For example, personally in my early 20's, I used to be a passionate smoker. Even though I caught pneumonia, nothing could stop cigarettes and coffee from making my day. They were ritual. Bringing stability and predictability into my life, from outside in.
Obviously I lacked this same stability and predictability, from the inside out.
Over the years, decades, my rituals and ceremonies changed. For sure, I departed the dark side of the moon, and eventually landed on Earth, safely. I started to grow deeper and deeper layers of being present here and now, which means being in touch with my body.
My spirituality is now growing from my body.
I often teach my clients is how to ground energetically, and keep doing is so much that their energy field gets stabile and dense. We cannot do this without practice. I'm not saying it needs to be a rigorous one, however, a level of commitment is needed for sure, if we want to develop inner authority, feeling of being bound to ourselves, Bound to This World.
The grounding comes in different ways. The next sip of tea can be it, for you. Infuse it with love, and imagine you are drinking out of a loving cup of Life. Infuse that warm, sweet liquid with your soft, kind, clear intention, and imagine this energy to journey into your body...
saturating all the cells,
all the tissues,
all your energy field,
through time, space
and all dimensions.
Poetically, it takes one sip of tea. Only one sip, full of presence and awareness.
A dedicated, persistent work.
How your morning self-love routines are going, darling?
I mean, they are obligatory, right. Connecting in ways, deep and shallow, before the World enters our days is mandatory to radical self-love which we pursue.
Like author Elizabeth Gilbert just recently wrote in one of her FB posts:
"Managing my mental health is very nearly a full-time job. I don’t take it lightly, because the stakes are high. Like many of us, I have a mind that is a very dangerous neighborhood. Left unattended, my mind will fester, rot, and roll me over the brink into anxiety and depression."
Of course, it is debatable why minds of so many of us are or can be dangerous neighborhoods. From where this genuine need for constant managing of our mental health comes. Seemingly un-attuned parenting? Complex trauma? Unavoidable social conditioning? Human bio-psycho-mechanics? Karmic stuff? The horrible intimate relationship that we are right here and right now finally leaving behind?
At the end of the day - or in the early morning, I guess it doesn't really matter.
My own experience, and what I am on and on observing with my clients is, taking sacred morning time for ourselves is sin qua non of basic inner sanity. Not to even mention positive growth aka expansion, be it in intimacy or career.
I've personally experimented with this numerous times over the years. And if I can give you one advice - just one advice on how to shift the level of self-love, self-appreciation, self-compassion?
Book your time in the morning, create a sacred space and keep returning into your sanctuary for so long that you too start or re-start to feel:
How good is to be yourself, how good is to be in your own energy field, how good is to feel your own cells and fibres, how pleasurable is to feel your core, how good and safe and precious and enjoyable and cozy and fulfilling and deep and wide and miraculous is being You.
All this, it will happen. Or it will happen again. I promise. But you need to persist. Which you should. And I know that you will. Because You deserve it all and much more.
You deserve it all and much more.
